You open Raindrop.io and your bookmarks are gone — or some of them are missing, or changes you made on one device don’t show up on another. Don’t panic — your data is almost certainly safe. Here’s how to figure out what happened.

You may be in the wrong account

This is the most common cause. It’s easy to end up with two accounts without realizing it — for example, one created with Google and another with email, or you accidentally signed up again instead of logging in. Go to Account Settings and check the email shown there. If it doesn’t look right, log out and try signing in with a different method — Google, Apple, or another email. If your bookmarks appear, that’s your real account.

Bookmarks were deleted

Deleted bookmarks go to Trash — they stay there until you empty it manually. Open Trash, select the items you need, and move them to any collection to restore.

Browser shows stale data

Sometimes data stored in your browser gets corrupted — especially after browser updates or clearing history. Raindrop.io may show an empty or outdated library even though everything is fine on the server. Fix: clear Raindrop.io data in your browser and log in again.
2
Open developer console — press Ctrl+Shift+I (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Option+I (Mac)
3
Go to the Application tab, click Clear site data (check “Including third-party cookies”)
4
Refresh the page and log in again

Changes don’t sync between devices

Raindrop.io syncs automatically, but if something looks off:
  • Refresh or reopen the app — close and reopen, or refresh the web page to force a sync
  • Log out and back in — this resets the local session and pulls fresh data from the server
  • Check that you’re using the same account — open Account Settings on each device and compare the email. If they differ, you’re in different accounts
  • Browser bookmarks ≠ Raindrop.io — Raindrop.io does not sync with your browser’s built-in bookmarks. The browser’s native “Add bookmark” saves to the browser only — use the Raindrop.io extension or app instead

Restore from a backup

If nothing above helps, you can roll back to a previous state:
2
Pick a backup from before the issue occurred and download it
3
Go to Import and upload the file
Automatic daily backups require a Pro plan. If you don’t have one, check if you’ve ever created a manual backup on the same page.
